Me again!
The Suicide Prevention training is set in stone for November 7th in the commons room 107. It will be at 7pm. We have fliers! And they will be posted around campus. Encourage everyone you know to come, word of mouth is the second most powerful motivator. The first being pizza, which will also be present along with entertainment and tons of valuable information. Best part is that all of this is completely FREE! So be there.
The Drag Show is November 14th! It is a Broadway theme and hypothetically performers from Myrnas will be there to judge and perform. The show will be from 7 to 9 with ample time before and after for getting ready and rehearsing. It is also in room 107 and the lower dining. Please please please please PLEASE!! If you are planning on performing an act, have it together and the music turned in to Ash by November 8th (Sunday). We will also be taking most of the time from this meeting to go over any issues you’ve encountered in the planning of your act so be prepared to show your stuff. There will be a MANDATORY rehearsal the day before the show in our usual meeting room (206) from 6-9 pm to ensure everyone has costume, music and floor work. There are a few side things in the works with other clubs (including a possible half time auction) which I will have more information on as it progresses. Vox has volunteered to possibly set up a table and do a couple of demonstrations for us. Be sure to show up early the day of to set up and get dressed!
Karaoke Party will be November 21st in the student leadership lab from 2-5 pm. Lots of fun! We can even pick up pizzas if that’s what we decide. Just a great way to unwind and bond a little.
We’ve been approached by the director of the 4 A’s to organize some sort of university event for World AIDS day on December 1st. I do believe the proposal was a candle light vigil with speeches and presentations but I’m sure we could join forces with other clubs and inject some fun handouts or activities into it. We’ll discuss the particulars on Sunday if you all are game.
