Next Wednesday we have the privilege of hosting an supremely talented bluegrass band: Riverbend. Riverbend is an experimental Newgrass band from Boulder Colorado. While mixing more modern styles of music: Funk, Disco, Ska, and Reggae, along with honoring the traditional styles of Bluegrass, Riverbend is quickly creating their own unique sound. Each member brings their own twist on music to the group. Barret Summers Long, from South Carolina, Intricately places his high harmony to top off the band’s vocal prowess; Nate Wiechert, from Wisconsin, keeps the band drivin’ with his hard hitting mandolin playing; Kyle Ussery, from Georgia, keeps the crowd dancin’ with his tasty funk lines, and Keith Summers, from New Jersey, keeps everyone’s toes tapping and hearts thumpin’ with his hard drivin/melodic banjo playing. Riverbend prides themselves on each individual’s ability to write unique songs,( one tune "SLJ" will premiere on Warren Miller's Playground) and look forward to leaving their mark on the Colorado Bluegrass Sound. Come join them for a night of toe tapping, booty shaking, grass-ified good times.
