Hillfolk Noir, Volifonix, and Joey Farr...
We have some great shows coming up over the next couple weeks that we're really excited about down here at Terrapin Station. This Friday the 21st we have Boise's own Hillfolk Noir playing their special brand of folk rock. Hillfolk Noir is tackling a type of music no one else in Boise is really playing right now, and they are playing extensively. Check out this video of a show they played in Portland.
On Wednesday the 26th we have Eugene's Volifonix and Boise's Velorution. Both these bands play supremely danceable funky-jazzy-rock grooves. Velorution rose from the ashes of IQEQ and is quickly making a name for themselves. This will be Volifonix' first trip to Boise, so come on down and help us show them how hard Boise can rock! Here is one of Volifonx' videos.
The hidden gem of our upcoming show, though, might be the Joey Farr Band, who we have playing on September 3rd and 4th. These guys hail from down in Arkansas and are right on the cusp of national recognition. They have been featured in magazines and radio stations across the country. They play a brand of blues influenced jam rock, Joey often breaks into intricately wailing solos, but the band never digresses from the theme of any specific song. Check out this video of Joey on 7 string guitar.
See you all at Terrapin Station!
