A Great Night in the Spitz
The Spitz, located in the heart of the East End of London, opened its doors in 1996 and was widely regarded as one of the leading live music venues in the UK. Despite a passionate campaign against closer it was forced to close after 11 years due to redevelopment of the Old Spitalfields Market.
A Great Night in The Spitz is a music documentary of the last ever event to be held at The Spitz, shot entirely over the last 48 hours of its existence. Based around an open live concert, key members of the London music community dropped by to pay their last respects and to celebrate 11 years of great music.
Featured artists include:
The Spitz Jazz Collective, Beth Orton, Soweto Kinch, Gwyneth Herbert, Seb Rochford and Babar Luck.
