Huck Notari

This is a second cd from Portland, Oregon, with a striking, unadorned sound in just a short period of time. Highland (under one's own management) of Huck Notari needs to be listened at a couple of times to really capture with how much feeling the music has been made. The first impression seems to be too careful and even hesitant, but after some time it seems to have similarities with the work of Townes Van Zandt. Just as the mourned Texan did in his time, Notari also hides in his songs. As if they give him protection. They are the songs with titles like Fly Around And Fly Away and Broken Town. Not a moment does Notari sound sentimental in these. Huck grew up in New Hampshire en supported by his family, he choose a career in theater and music. He started a vaudeville company on the West coast, wandered about the streets of New Orleans while he impersonated Charlie Chaplin with mime and played ragtime and country blues. With Highland, Notari ( song, guitar, piano and fiddle) proves to be an original artist who writes fine songs that fit exactly the surroundings in which he walks around on the cover. By the way, the beautiful Boothill Hotel wouldn't have been a misfit among the very first recordings of the Flatlanders. Among the guests from this cd is Caleb Klauder, that other man from Portland who also made a wonderful, unadorned album with DANGEROUS Mes & POISONOUS YOUs.
Highland is for sale by CD Baby
