Where Its At

I think you could have included a few other genres, like the following have released really great albums this year as well:
New Found Glory - Not Without A Fight
The Ghost Of A Thousand - New Hopes New Demonstrations
Future Of The Left - Travels With Myself And Another
Fightstar - Be Human
Camera Obscura - My Maudlin Career
Cancer Bats - Hail Destroyer (Reissue)
Metric - Fantasies
Just to mix it up a bit.

Bah... Metric album is really good - don't have the Camera Obscura album, so can't agree or disagree.... re-issues, do they count? Nope!

Here are some I forgot: 'Companions' by Tinariwen, Depeche Mode 'Sounds Of The Universe', and Fever Ray 'Fever Ray', 'Broken' by Soulsavers.... more will undoubtedly come to me the second I hit the 'Submit' button!

Yeah you're right, I retract that one, reissues shouldn't and don't count. It's just that Cancer Bats album really is something special. I saw Fever Ray there last week at Pukkelpop, now I like her previous work and I'm all for a bit of musical diversity but that was one of the weirdest gigs I have ever been at. I still don't know what to make of it. I honestly don't know if it was really good or just really shite. Having seen Metric at same on the Main Stage, it just reinforced my opinion that they may have released the album of the year in Fantasies.
How about Mariachi El Bronx, what are they thinking? It's almost weirder than Fever Ray.
