The largest theatrical collaboration in U.S. history.

The brainchild of Suzan-Lori Parks (pictured), 365 Plays/365 Days began as the Pulitzer Prize winner's personal challenge to write one play every day for a year, and has evolved into what is billed as the largest theatrical collaboration in U.S. history. Opening night is fast approaching for Seattle and 16 other cities embarking on this yearlong theatrical relay race..it begins Nov. 13, fittingly, with a play titled Start Here. The newly formed Mahogany Project will perform the first week of Seattle plays in venues to be announced shortly on www.365seattle.com. Seattle365, the consortium of directors and producers that oversees the local incarnation of Parks' plays, is presenting them in a variety of venues across Seattle that vary day-to-day from traditional stage settings to unconventional arenas like libraries and grocery stores. Each of the 52 weeks of plays is produced by a different collective of actors and directors. For those not inclined to chase the plays across the city, there will be a "marathon" performance of each month's productions on the first Monday of every month. Various venues, www.365seattle.com.
