I was just wondering why we have toenails.

Fingernails? Yeah, I actually use those from time to time.

But toenails? All they do is get dirty, and scratch my wife while I sleep.

Cutting them requires more effort than I care to exert.

This makes me think of useless body parts in general. I recently read that the appendix may actually have some sort of important use. I don't remember what that use actually was. But all those years everybody thought it was just a leftover organ from when we used to be tadpoles or something.

And what about man-nipples. Why do we have them? Other than the fact that I like to play with mine sometimes when I am alone and sitting in my boxers in front of the computer and....

I have to go now.

Men have nipples because in utero, babies don't actually have sexes until a few weeks in. So for the first few weeks babies are hermaphrodites with characteristics of BOTH sexes. (The sex is DETERMINED but just not visible physically.. we all start out the same and this forms later.. Which is why it is so difficult sometimes to determine babies' sex in sonogram) So you actually used to be half girl! I usually never answer these questions when you do your hypotheticals, but I thought you may be able to have fun with this one.
