Since every organ and every system of the body is interconnected we can’t focus on cleansing just one specific area.
The concept of purifying the blood is ancient, but it’s as important today as it ever was. The bloodstream, working in conjunction with the liver and kidneys, plays a vital role in cleansing the body of toxins and disease-causing agents.
Blood supplies life to every cell in the body. Without a clean blood supply, normal cell renewal cannot take place. Toxins carried by the blood to the cells are often responsible for cellular deformation leading to diseased organs and tissues. Blood-purifying herbs not only cleanse the blood but also stimulate the liver, kidneys, colon and lymphatic system—all of which are responsible for filtering toxins from the body for removal.
As with any other cleansing, avoid: white flour in any form, sugar, junk food, processed foods and meat, pesticides, chemicals, preservatives and heated fats and oils for at least a month.
Drink at least 8-10 glasses of pure filtered water, fresh lemon juice, beet juice, carrot juice and dandelion tea. Eat raw vegetables as often as possible and drink a lot of green drinks, made fresh from spirulina, wheatgrass, spinach and other green vegetables.
Certain herbs are especially helpful for the detoxification of the blood and lymphatic system:
• Dandelion (absorbs toxins, stimulates the liver and kidneys),
• Yellow dock (is a blood purifier),
• Sarsaparilla root (acts as a diuretic),
• Garlic (cleanses the entire system, improves circulation),
• Burdock root (prevents toxic chemical poisoning),
• Echinacea (is a powerful immune stimulant),
• Pau d’arco (is a blood purifier),
• Kelp (detoxifies and builds health),
• Red clover (has anti-tumor, blood cleansing properties),
• Cayenne pepper (stimulates circulation), and
• Goldenseal (is a powerful cleanser and antibiotic).
Because the blood supplies life to all cells, tissues and organs, cleansing it improves the health and well being of the whole body.
