Araath: You say that GS is more a Project?

Skagg: Yes you could say that...there is only me and Gaahl that includes Gaahlskagg, the others are hired henchmen wich do some nasty dirtywork hehe.
Me and Gaahl started with a band called Sigfader in 94, and in Sigfader the all-around theme is and shall always be about Asatro. But we wanted to do something else also...something totally boundaryless, more extreme, and more mocking kind of music! That's the reason why Gaahlskagg was born!

A.: Will A.N.B. then be about the same stuff?

Skagg: A.N.B wich you refer to was only a working title we had, and no, the next album will not be about the same stuff.
The next album will ironically have the same norse theme as Sigfader, and most of it from Edda's Rigstula.
This is because musically-wise the theme fits greatly... the music is old, the recipe is old...then we need old norse lyrics as well.
TRUE NORWEGIAN BLACK METAL !!!


A.: I heard your brother is playing with you here in Taake.

Skagg: Yes he is... and by the way he's the one who handling the drumwork on the new Gaahlskagg album.
Great drummer he is...HAIL THURZUR !!!


A.: So, what more can I ask?

Skagg: What I can tell you about Gaahlskagg,
is that we could release anything under this banner!
A.: -So it's not bound to black metal?
S.: No absolutely not! There is NO boundaries...
So you can propably expect an Christ-mass album sometime during summer! *joking*
Well...maybe not, but gaahlskagg should be about mocking,
so we can and will release anything!


A.: Rumors spread that Gaahl will be leaving the black metal scene!
So a very important question is: Is the new album guarantied?

S.: Yes!


A.: I see you play in many other bands as well, like for example Infernal Manes

Skagg: Yes Infernal Manes is a heavy metal band wich started in 2004 i think.
But the band is not really open and running at the moment...so the future is very unsure for this band.
I hope we someday can get together and record an album with Infernal Manes, because we had some really good songs here...if you like old heavy metal like Mercyful Fate, you should check this band out.


A.: Speaking of other projects, I look forward to the Deathcult CD, I used to download the 2 songs from your rehearsal, which you put up on MySpace and I really like the style!
It's more straight! more anti human – anti life!

Skagg: Yes Deathcult is against everything living, for one sole reason...to destoy this imperfect world!
We await the fire deamons, to set the world in flames...let Ragnarok come, there sooner there better!
