We got lucky once more and heard a master play on his own hand made instrument. We also experienced a well tenured band that have blossomed into their musical prime. Just like a glistening new coin, New Shilling glowed last month at Holy Trinity with original members, Peter Yeats, Eddie Parente, Rob Barrick and bohdran master, Ken Larson.
New Shilling shined bright with their flawless instrumentals that included jigs, reels, slip jigs and modern Celtic presentations. Their songs deeply moved the audience that included many faces that were happy to see the band in their new form.
Peters voice was well oiled and sounded like fine weathered velvet.
Robs bass guitar created a sturdy foundation. His piping was immaculate.
Kens bodhran kept the beat at 90 craic.
Eddies expertise violin playing kept the blood flowing strong throughout the concert.
The audience were very true!
Lovely Concert
