I got to hear both of them along with several other great songwriters who I already knew of at Rockwood Music Hall the other night (it was the 1 year anniversary of LOCAL CORRESPONDENTS... an incredible community of musicans in the city).

Anyway I have been listening to Mike's music non-stop on his website over the last couple days... i wake up singing it.  In a word incredible.  I'd recomend listening to all the songs on the website but especially the three he played at rockwood:

war sweater, car crash song (brilliant), and honey covered hands... i also really like messy girl but don't take my word for it... go listen... actually you should have already left this page to listen... if your still reading STOP!... go listen

But if you are that type of person that has to read to the end... good cuz i also wanted to sing the praises of paula valstein.... her set was beautiful.  I was in a trance and loving every minute of it... Listen to her too!!
