In December
2009, multi-platinum selling country music artist Clay Walker will
release the first radio single “She Won’t Be Lonely Long” off his much
anticipated new studio album on Curb Records. Produced by Keith Stegall
(Alan Jackson, Randy Travis) and written by Galen Griffin, Doug Johnson and
Phil O’Donnell, “She Won’t Be Lonely Long” is
the lead single off Walker’s ninth studio album and is the first single he has
released since his hit 2007 album Fall.
As a true fan favorite with a devoted legion of followers across the country,
Walker made his country music debut in 1993 with his smash hit “What’s It To
You,” which quickly climbed to #1 on the Billboard charts. Since
then, he has sold over 11 million albums, had 11 #1 hit singles, with four
RIAA platinum and two gold certified albums under his belt.
“I wanted the first single off my forthcoming album to reflect the work I’ve
been doing to become the artist I want to be. ‘She Won’t Be Lonely Long’
is an example of these steps and this work,” says Walker. “Lyrically, it is a
song that resonates with both women and men because we all want to look our
best once we are unexpectedly ‘back on the market.’”
Outside of the stage and studio, Walker is the founder of Band Against MS
(BAMS), a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit public charity committed to providing
educational and funding programs for those living with multiple sclerosis, and
funding programs researching a cure for the disease. Walker established BAMS in
2003 with the goal of helping others living with the same disease he has
battled since 1996. To date, BAMS has raised more than $2 million in an
effort to fund important research that may one day lead to a cure for MS.
