Current mood:  frustrated
Category: Travel and Places
I'm heading to St. Augustine, FL in just a few minutes for a corporate event.  After that I'll be in Nashville for a couple of days working with my producer, Jim Allison.  Then it's on to Pigeon Forge, TN to join up with a bunch of great Trop Rock artists for Trop Rocks The Smokies 2!  A lot of time on the road and here's my frustration.  Went out & fired up my Tom Tom and it's NOT WORKING!  If you don't know, a Tom Tom is a GPS system.  All this technology - laptops, iPods, cell phones, Tom Tom's - is GREAT when it works, but what's the average person do when it's NOT working?  Calling "customer service" is USUALLY, not ALWAYS, a joke!  Send them an email?  That takes a couple of days.  Take it in for warranty work?  I'd end up like the lady who took her laptop to Best Buy.  They LOST it!  It had her life on there!  They tried to buy her off with a gift card & now she's suing them for millions!  Just had to vent my frustration.  Am I alone on this?

never had GPS trouble---yet. don't own one--yet. But my 3 month old wireless router went ca-poot. on my 3rd cell phone in a year after spending many hours on the phone with Sprint---! their update blew up 2 of my phones. my 19" moniter died late last year prompting me to spend MORE big bucks to get another.

stuff used to last forever. and when it did, i had it repaired in a reasonable amount of time with no hassle.

fah-get-about-it! and learning curve's? whew----! by the time i figure out my home 24 track it'll probably blow. jw

Oh no, technology woes... sorry that you are having these frustrations. Some good ole mountain air with some mountain brew and you'll be good as new. I can hear the strains of the blue grass music now. Hope you guys and gals are having a blast at Trop Rock the Smokies. Wish I could be there too. Will see you at STARS next weekend. Later, Hugs, Patti
