Our debut performance was a lot of fun. It was a perfect lovely fall day -- bright sunlight and a tender breeze on the air. The temperature was comfortable - in the 70s probably. There were tons of people walking through the mall but it was really difficult to get a sense of who was there for the Harvest Fest. It was nice to see a bunch of friends, fans and alumni in the freely assembled mass.
We got there. Stephanie and David biked up and arrived only moments after Justin and Jon parked up in there. We loaded our gear to the stage. Stephanie kept getting hurt. First at home loading up. Then at Library Mall her bike tipped over while she was locking it and bruised her leg. Later, after the show, Justing wacked her in the head with a milk crate. It is a miracle that she survived.
Stephanie ran off to grab some food (spring rolls) for her and Jon. When she returned it was already time to go on. We set up quickly while
Ben Masel spoke to the crowd about the historic and potential value of hemp as an agricultural crop in Wisconsin. When we were ready, he wrapped up with a call to put a referendum on the ballot in the spring to expand upon our local decrim ordinance, MGO 23.20.
Here's what we played:
Gumbo-Limbo
Flyboy
What Possesses You
Indian Summer ---->
Jeopardy ---->
Circular ReasoningDemocracy (Leonard Cohen)
Johnna videotaped!!We all had fun and felt good about the show. We felt like it was a good first show and we're looking forward to doing some club shows this fall and winter.
