We still need a few volunteers to help conduct the Tour on June 14th
and to help clean up the trails on our Pre-Tour workday on June 13th.
If you are interested in helping out on either day, please email us
for more details. We have been cutting the new trails and doing a lot
of work to improve the park, so if you're looking to help out, here's
your chance to be involved in creating an enjoyable and safe recreation
area!
Our last park tour of
the spring season is set for Sunday afternoon, June 14th. Depending on
the condition of the trails, our long hike will follow one of two new
routes to the Redding Hoist House and then loop back around, for a
total distance of 4 miles. The 2 mile trail for the shorter route is
fairly flat and follows new trail extensions out to the Number 13 Mine
Portal. Both the short and long routes follow fresh trails, so if
you've been on a tour before, this will be new territory for you to see!
Come
a bit early to park and sign in. Wear weather appropriate clothing and
feel free to bring dogs on leashes and children capable of walking the
full hike distance.
If
you can't make it Sunday, we are planning on scheduling more tours in
the fall, after the heat of the summer passes. Please check our website
often and watch for newsletters announcing the dates for the Fall Tours.
