PETER COX on the Radio
Ex Go West Drummer Jimmy Copley recently recorded a live session at
the BBC studios in Maida Vale which will be transmitted in the Paul
Jones Radio show on BBC Radio 2 on Monday May 18th from 7pm.
Peter Cox sang Lead Vocals on three tracks from Jimmy's recent album
'Slap My Hand'. Jimmy Copley was of course on drums for the live
session at which DJ Paul Jones was present. Jimmy Copley, Peter and a
live Band recorded four tracks in the session: three with Peter Cox on
Lead Vocals and one instrumental track. The session was recorded in one
take and will be broadcast as it was recorded: so it is very much a
'live' recording!. Among the tracks recorded was a unique version of
'Strange Brew' with Mo Birch (former Go West backing singer) once again
providing supporting vocals to Peter.
The Band who recorded the session were:
Lead Vocals: Peter Cox
Vocals: Mo Birch
Drums: Jimmy Copley
Guitar: Mick Rogers (Manfred Mann'a Earth Band)
Guitar: Micky Moody (Whitesnake)
Bass: Ian Jennings (Big Town Playboys, Jeff Beck)
Keyboards: Mark Stanway (Magnum)
It will be a brilliant chance to hear Peter Cox singing some excellent
tracks so make sure you dont miss the chance to tune in! More
information on how you can pick up Radio 2 will be on the site nearer
to the broadcast date but in the meantime make a note to tune in on
Monday May 18th!

The 25th May on British Forces Radio is 'BFBS Radio Rewind': six
hours of top tunes and tales, hosted by three eighties' music legends.
First up, Peter Cox of Go West. Then, Martin Fry from ABC. And last,
but not least, Tony Hadley from the recently re-formed Spandau Ballet.
Good, eh?
The three troubadours will be playing their own music, their
favourites, old and new, and generally indulging in some BFBS Radio
banter.
