"The 12th Man" – By Dusty Drake and Steve Yurjevich

Scott Tady of the Beaver County Time writes about Dusty Drake's new single: "THE 12th MAN is a song that contends that Steelers Nation is like a religion and that the team has benefited from divine intervention."   The opening verse is "The Lord loves a Steelers fan/He sent Big Ben to the promised land." Later comes a reference to Steelers fans being "baptized in beer."    The song has been getting airplay on the Froggy Radio stations.

Dusty Drake and songwriting partner Steve Yurjevich of Moon Township set "12th Man" to the melody of Mark Chestnutt's 2004 hit. "The Lord Loves a Drinking Man."  Steve came up with the idea and wrote the initial lyrics.  He contacted Dusty to help finish it.  Steve, Dusty, and Kevin Fowler wrote the final version that Dusty recorded and sang.

Country Music vocalist, song writer, and recording artist Dusty Drake is the composer of the hit singles "One Last Time" and "Say Yes". He has charted five times on the Billboard Country Charts.  He first CD "One Last Time" was released on Warner Bros Records in 2003.  "Say Yes" was released in 2007 on the Big Machine Records label.  Drake got his start as a drummer in his teens before finding his true musical calling as a vocalist and songwriter. The Monaca Pennsylvania native performed was the vocalist for the Pittsburgh area country band Silverado.  Wanting to make it in country music, he quit his job as an air traffic controller and moved to Nashville.   In Nashville he worked his way up the country music ranks; doing backup vocals, singing and recording demos, and writing songs that were recorded by Joe Diffie, Karen Staley, and Mark Chesnutt.  Producer Paul Worley signed him to Warner Bros
