Current mood:  sad
'Lou Contento' was the antithesis of comic book villain he portrayed...

It is with sadness that I announce to fans of the Villikon Universe the passing of original comic book character model 'Lou Contento.'

Lou passed on June 3, 2007.

When artist Roy Young and I set out to create a look for all the characters in the comic book series, the character of HIGH ADMIRAL 'NEFARIOUS PELYKOSAUR SKRYTON' was one of our greatest challenges. Skryton was a powerful character, the villain who commanded VENOM'S MAJESTY as Intelligence Czar of the Itascan Sector. He needed to be feared and revered, and in the world of Villikon comics, Lou Contento commanded the fierce presence we were looking for.

In reality, Lou Contento was one of the kindest men you could ever want to meet. At 74, he was more active than most will ever hope to be at his age. His zest for life and having fun were inspirational to all who knew him, and while his contributions in life were surely not overshadowed by his appearance as a comic book villain, it surely fascinated his grandchildren and gave him a tall tale to tell, which began in VILLIKON CHRONICLES book one, on page 5, and inspired the portrayal of his character in the forthcoming film, THE VILLIKON CHRONICLES: GENESIS OF EVIL. He was a kindred neighbor to all, and we will all miss him a great deal.

Death can never be the end.
Death is the road.
Life is the traveller.
The Soul is the Guide.
