Friday, December 22, 2006

If you are a regular reader, you know that I am a member of the National United Freedom Alliance. Our president, Mason Weaver, recently posted an article in our forum about Kwanzaa. I wanted you all to check this out:

Kwanzaa: Symbolism Over Substance

Increasingly Black Americans are embracing the Kwanzaa celebration and festival. Why? What is the need to recognize a made-up holiday with false traditions? It is because of emotion. The community has been told it is a "black thing" and therefore it must be honored.

Now, do not get me wrong, I have no problem in remembering my past or honoring traditions. I have a degree in Black History, I speak Swahili and had acquired an African name long before it became politically correct. However, let us get serious—traditions are for memories, not for made-up holidays. Kwanzaa is a make believe story full of errors and falsehoods...

Please post any feedback in that forum or both, but not just this blog, if you please.

And by the way, it is not an all Black or even a pro-Black organization. So, the call is open to all!

Think about it,

From what I have read about Kwanzaa, it was created because Christianity is a white religion... (Ron Karenga's words, not mine)

I don't celebrate Kwanzaa either, not only because it's a fraud, but it takes away from Christmas.

I think we need to take a greater look at what the Nuguzo Saba represents and not look at a ex-FBI agent who helped take down the Black Panther Party who is a Marxist in my opinion.

Yes, Mr. Weaver is correct in his analysis in terms of Ron Karega. However, he never criticizes the 7 principles.

When I see Umoja, Kujichagulia, Ujima, Ujamma, Nia, Kuumba and Imani they can be used in any particular order and fashion regardless of political or religious identity. How many Black Conservatives do not believe in unity, self determination, cooperate work and repsonsibility, cooperate economics, purpose, creativity and faith? Any Black Republican or conservative that do not believe in this is living a lie.

We say that Kwanzaa is made up and I hear this every year from Black Conservatives. We give Christmas two thumbs up but Jesus Christ was not born on December 25th. The person born on December 25th was Nimrod, grandson of Ham who was responsible for the Tower of Babel where you get Babylon. Nimrod's daughter was Keturah who was the third wife of Abraham.

Show me Santa Claus in the Bible. You will not find it. Show me the name Christmas anywhere in the Bible. You cannot find it. Who made it up? Man. So what is the difference between a fed making up a holiday as compared to the Nicean Council in 325 AD making up celebrations that had nothing to do with Christ?

I can easily point out in Jeremiah Chapter 10 how we are not supposed to put up Christmas trees but we do this every year without criticism.

Black Conservatives and Republicans give Hanukkah two thumbs up, yet, they too use 7 candles in their rituals. They too light one candle per day. And many Black Republicans who are so desperate to love America and everyone in it cannot make the historical connection between Blacks, the Israelites and Ancient Israel.

But we clown those who want to celebrate consciousness by lighting a candle a day.

Since I have grown in wisdom I am not a huge fan of Kwanzaa like I have been in the past. However, we should strive to live by those principles daily, not just the last 7 days of the year. But before we clown Kwanzaa let's look at the fallacy of the other holidays that were man made.
