Well after a week at home recovering (the longest i’ve been in the UK for a long time) I think I am just about ready to tell of our adventures on the mighty Masters of Dirt tour!
It all started on February 23rd when we flew over to Vienna. We were all ubber excited about meeting the guys that were riding, with memories of a crazy weekend at Rock and Ride FMX show still fresh in our minds! However we had a pretty quiet night Friday preparing ourselves for a mental weekend. On the Saturday we turned up early for rehearsals, obviously word of the our reputation had already got around as all the boys were giving us that "entrigued but a little scared look", we love it!
The first rider we bumped into was Ronnie Renner (legend!), little did he know what we had in store for him after the show! Mwahahaha!
At 7:00pm the lights in the arena dimmed as the presenter shouted "Vienna, are you ready for the Masters of Dirt?!". We were ready at the entrance in long black hooded cloaks (strange but effective!). as the music started me ran into the arena and with a huge bang and more pyrotechnics thens you can shake a stick at we threw off our cloaks, ran up the landings and did a big fire show, Fuel Girls stylee! The show was so amazing with some of the best riders I have ever seen (Tom Pages is a fucking lunatic!), Justin Hoyer back flipping his snow mobile, Travis Hart back flipping his 50 and some crazy Russian fuck pulling a hummer with his hair!
At the end of the show we presented the champagne to the top 3 riders and of course got completely covered in it. However not being content with that me and Sahar decided to get down and dirt with some champagne soaked mud wrestling, the boys also decided to get involved by spraying the shit out of us with dirt from the bikes! After the show we decided that it was about time that Ronnie Renner cleaned himself up, so we dragged him to the showers and scrubbed him down, poor boy!
By the end of the first show Lora had fractured her ankle and I had a fucking nasty burn to my hand (don’t play with fire kids, we are after all trained professionals, cough cough).
After a hectic show we headed to what is of course the true reason for any good FMX show, the after show party! Personally I dont remember turning up at the party, or leaving, or in fact any of it for that matter but I am assured it was pretty mental, my liver backs up this story!
Sunday we did another show which was, as ever just as eventful! Monday morning came and hungover and completely knackered Helen, Lora. Sahar and Chloe headed off to another hotel to spend the week in Vienna (the story is a messy one check out the Fuel Girls Myspace to read about what they got up to) and me and Rachael headed home to set off for the Paris tuning show!
So that is the story of Vienna, I will maybe write tomorrow and tell you what we got up to in Salzburg and Graz!
