I just posted some new photos of The paint scheme used by Garett Hood during this year's Chili Bowl Race. The story on the hood started with a suggestion by Gregg Hood. I started running with the ideas he gave me and I came up with one of our family's traditional cartoon characters, the Boyer Bum, as the main point of interest. He said he wanted a character holding a giant bowl of chili, and I suggested the Boyer Bum. A character my uncles and my father have drawn since they were children. The other inspiration came from my Uncle Paul's artwork at the Boyer Gallery (that, I am happy to say is re-openning this spring). I then placed the Golden Driller (the icon of the Chili Bowl) in the background and it was complete.
I have to say a special thanks to My father, John Boyer, for teaching me how to draw the family's most interesting cartoon character
and to
TWO HOODS Racing for showing it proudly at this year's Chili Bowl!
Thanks Guys!
Ryan "RW" Boyer
