Milton Jackson, fresh from his domination of the deep and techy house world with his album Crash on Freerange as well as winning best deep house track of 2008 according to Beatport, get's his sublime Tronicsole release 1998 remixed to fine effect.
Hiro goes for a Johnny D groovefest in his take whilst Shur I kan's Microrave remix is just that, sounds like the house tent at a festival located in the centre of your brain.
Our first remix winner comes from Ali Herron of Ooft fame, part of the The Revenge crew, who have taken the world by storm in the last year with their re edits and mid tempo deep house stompers. Ali Herron is a 28 year old native of Glasgow, Scotland. After a fair few years DJing in various bars and clubs in and around town he hooked up with The Revenge (Five20East/Jisco) and together they formed the DJ & Production outfit OOFT. It was through this that Ali caught the production bug and has since been busy reworking everything from Marvin Gaye to DJ Bone whilst cutting his studio chops over the last couple of years. His mix is a slow grinding builder that sums up what is happenning on the cooler dancefloor of late.
Second winner Russell Ventilla's take caught the Tronicsole crew totally off guard and is what we would technically term, mental, in a brilliant off the wall kind of way. Russell got into Music production only a couple of years ago and whilst he started using a computer he has reverted to the Old Skool making this remix with but a synth and drum machine.
