Current mood:awesome
Hey bands!
We are more than happy to host a performance for your group in our store but there are a couple of guidelines you gotta follow:
-First off, we are not a venue. We are a record shop. We're more than happy to support and promote local or touring acts but we typically have one band play a day, anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour. If you have different intentions, let us know through and message and we'll try to work something out.
-You can't be horribly offensive. Although we do sell some explicit material that doesn't mean we're cool with you strongly promoting violence, racism or anything offensive that you know will turn heads in your music. After all, this is a business so your sound must be appropriately aimed towards the atmosphere of the store.
-We have a PA we're more than happy to let you use (2 speakers, 2 mics w/ stands, and a mixer. Note: We don't have a DI box. If you plan on running anything through our PA be prepared and come equipted with proper gear to make this, if at all, possible.)
-WE ARE NOT A VENUE, once again we are a business. With this in mind we ask that you don't pump up the volume to 11 when you play here. Bands that have played with proper volume, levels, and dynamics have achieved a great sound in our store, so don't be a dick when we ask you to turn it down.
-If there are 10 people in your band, it's gonna be rough. The space you will be playing in is indeed small but we've successfully had plenty of larger groups pull it off.
-We might be able to get you shows at our other locations but you've gotta give us some advance warning.
-Treat others the way you wish to be treated. We are all very respectful and are more than happy to work with. If you are disrespecting our rules and guidelines you wont be asked to come back or be able to set up future events with Streetlight Records. If you are rude to an employee or customer, we will simply pull the plug and kick you out.
-WE DO NOT PAY OUR ACTS. We give them a place to play, however;
-Our in store performances are typically at 4PM. This is the best time for the staff and also for the surrounding business. Please arrive as early as you need in order be set up and ready to play at 4PM. Please keep in mind that this is relatively flexible so let us know in advance if you need to work something else out.
-If you got something to sell, this is great for both us! We will set up consignment in the store before the event so we'll be able to sell your products during the performance.
Send us a message if you're interested in setting up an in store and we will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks!
