U.K. crust punk pioneers EXTREME NOISE TERROR have announced they will release a new best-of compilation titled 'Back To The Roots' as a sliding scale download through Canada's Moshpit Tragedy Records.
The 17-song release will soon be available from www.moshpit-tragedy.com
complete with a printable sleeve for as much or as little as each
visitor chooses and is even being offered for free to those without a
paypal account, an option Label Founder Rayny Forster
claims is necessary to gain the fan's respect in times when illegal
downloading is the only alternative fans have to paying high prices.

Forster says the sliding scale idea is a means of
taking advantage of falling CD sales and disillusionment with major
record labels, and points out his new label model has already caught
the attention and support of several key figures involved with the
music industry. 'I'm down with what Moshpit Tragedy is doing 100 percent.' states Mike Williams (EYEHATEGOD/ARSON ANTHEM vocalist).
'Younger, newer underground bands need to be heard and noticed in these
modern digital days without signing their lives away to some
bloodsucking record label right outta the gate. It's a very honorable
and DIY way to get things done.' OZZY OSBOURNE bassist Rob 'Blasko' Nicholson even goes so far as to say 'This model could very well be the future of all indie labels.'
Extreme Noise Terror formed in 1985 playing
grinding hardcore punk with politically charged & socially aware
lyrics. They released a split LP with Choas UK before playing live on John Peel's show, which was later released by the BBC. In 1992 the band made national headlines when they performed at the Brit Awards by firing blanks from a machine gun at the unsuspecting audience.
