Being in a band for the fun of it is awesome. Using a band as a money making venture and career in this day and age is quite a bit harder. How much are you willing to sacrifice? Friends, family, girlfriends, comfort, financial security . . . . even safety?
Being in a band is also a type of marriage. A "normal" marriage between two people is tough enough . . . a marriage between five people is much harder, especially when they all come from different parts of the country. It's also hard when these five people all have different definitions of what a "marriage" really entails.
Another tough part of being in a band as a money making venture is separating the "business" from the "personal". There's gotta be a bunch of you out there who hate your day jobs. Think how hard it would be to actually live with your boss.
The honest truth is that the members of Another Day Late are all at different points in their lives. Some want to keep pushing through the sludge while others would rather focus on different career paths. Some members want the craziness and uncertainty of life on the road while others want the safety and security of their hometowns. We have been trying all summer to reconcile our differences and figure out a compromise. Or, in other words, figure out who's turn it is to make more sacrifices.
The simple answer is that we cannot continue as a band unless we are completely united. Sadly, we are not united anymore.
This decision is especially gut wrenching because we recently recorded 3 songs off of our potential full length and they are killer. We love our fans more than anything and have been so grateful for their love and support throughout this crazy journey. New fans are always surprised because when they message us, we always message them back. We are very down to earth dudes and have been truly humbled by our fans.
We love these songs and we love our dudes in ADL. We want you guys to have the new songs, so we have included a link to a zip file with them all in high-quality form for your listening pleasure. Enjoy the new songs, spread them around like gravy on chocolate chip pancakes. If you enjoy them a fraction of how much we enjoyed writing / recording them, then we've done our job...
thanks for everything, you have made this trip amazing
