Evaluations & Goals: Since we finished Galatians, we focused on the goals of the group and made self and group evaluations of each Project Baby. Everyone wrote self evaluations which were then addressed to the whole group to discuss. This is so that the Project Manager can better prepare and tweak their existing babies and make them better. Like most things, even our babies need to be refined. In addition, we were able to work with those who still have not yet had their Project Baby.
Afterwards, we wrote personal specific goals for the YB as a whole. Everyone contributed with great practical ideas, and esp. with KPerze explaining that our goals need to be quantifiable as well as acknowledging that we shouldn't accomplish things just for numbers sake. There's always a balance and motive. Some goals we concentrated on, besides the Project Babies and Bible Studies, are having consistent personal devotions which will now be posted weekly on the YB Forums under "Devotions." In addition, we're trying to conceive practical ideas to get the parents together to explain what the YB's progression and purpose. Another specific issue addressed was the discipline of focus and seriousness during "serious" moments, as well as working on the "inside jokes." On the more serious side, we discussed visitors and accomodating people we bring to church/bible study, and how to help each other make their visitors feel welcome. In addition to visitors, we also need to minister to those who haven't come to youth/church as well.
We ended up in prayer, right after encouragement for the youth, for their efforts and continued fervor to come to every sunday's study and youth time, and for dedicating themselves to their Babies.
God bless you guys. The best is yet to come this year.
