Lee Rourke in Brighton's The Argus: "Magazines like Scarecrow and 3:AM (another lit mag he co-edits) have brought together groups of internet writers, such as the Offbeats and the Brutalists” – (groups of writers united in opposition to the mainstream publishing industry)".

The problem is that there is no mainstream publishing industry for literature generally, and poetry specifically. Academia, college presses, and those who make a living teaching literature and poetry are the mainstream publishers, and they make a living out of being gatekeepers. I fantasize a mob of poets with pitchforks and torches storming writing workshops at the major old money colleges threatening to kill the monsters within the ivy walls.
