in a large bowl, combine a double bass, a drum kit and a derbouka, add a little kafka and boulgakov, some ishmael reed and lots of toni morrison. mix well. add some mandolute, violin and saxophone in order to get a nice fluffy texture. james baldwin, paul auster, isaac b. singer, amiri baraka and chromatic percussion are also welcome. now stir in some coltrane, waits, coleman, zorn, stern, krakauer, wu tang clan, perlman, reich, ndegeocello… to spice the whole thing up. you may also sprinkle some jarmusch, burton and lee (spike), as well as a little basquiat and chagall. dig a hole in a marseille backyard. burry the whole thing. say a kaddish and/or draw a vévé. let it grow for a couple of years. when the tree is about the height of a golem, reap a handful of its strange fruit. in a medium saucepan, bring them to a simmer. pour into the prepared pan and bake until a tuning fork inserted in the middle comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter) clinging to it, 35 to 45 minutes. put the goodie in your cd player. press play. lay back. relax. enjoy...:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
