When I was a baby opossum, I lost my opossum-mama,
I hung by my opossum-tail,
hung and cried and wailed,
"Mama, opossum-mama, come save me from my opossum-drama!"
Alone and ascared* my opossum-mama nowhere, I did what I never thought i'd dare...
I curled my body up, into an opossum-ball,
knowing it would hurt, when I made that far fall,
I closed my opossum-eyes tight,
and prayed to opossum god, I'd be alright,
I let loose my opossum-tail,
fighting not to flail,
and was met not by the hard earthen ground, you see,
but by the soft back of my opossum-mama,
who had never stopped watching me.
