Since Jeff and I perform mostly original material, it was a pleasure to record the Christmas album this July, and to interpret some of those old holiday standards. While singing 'Silent Night' I was keenly aware that it's a lullaby, unlike when I sing it at a Christmas outing with crazy (and possibly tipsy) friends around. I always assumed that the line "Son of God loves pure light" was one sentence, with "loves" as a verb. And I always thought it was a little flakey. But while reading the lyrics I realized that "Love's" is a proper noun, showing ownership. Jesus didn't love light. He was the light by which we see Love. -or maybe the glory of, the embodiment of Love fulfilled. Cool.

That is cool.  Honestly, I have never known it was that either.  That does make it quite better.  Hope all is well with you two.  By the way, I'm going to be a dad!  No really....  Audra and I are expecting and I could not be happier.  I can't stop listening to "Tattoo" right now.  I am sure it will mean even more to me in 8 months.

Hey Jen!

Hard to believe that it's only 4 months until the Christmas season is upon us.  I was telling that to David only yesterday.  He asked me why I had been listening to the Polar Express soundtrack.  What can I say?  I LOVE Christmas music anytime of the year.  I think that listening to it in the summer time could be considered weird, but I like taking my mind away from how hot it really is and also to bolster my spirits during these hectic times.  It seems to center me and bring me back to happier memories.  I think it also helps me to remember the "reason for the season" since most people manage to forget when the Holidays come around.

Work has been awful and I'm working on finding another job.  I have to go back next Thursday for the final interview.  If I do well, then I've got the job.  I haven't been focusing on anything but work and my nerves are pretty worn down.  My blogging and other writing has been put to the side as have many of my other "hobbies".   David and I look forward to seeing you sometime soon.  Take care, my friend!  Jeanie

P.S.  LOL  I did happen to know about Love being a proper noun.  I'm not sure how long I've known that but I think it's been a while.  Don't you love finding out new things?  Me too!  Hugs to ya!!!!!

HI Jennifer and Jeff!

I just got the Christmas album the Friday after Thanksgiving. I knew that you would put out a quality album, and I wasn't dissapointed. Your voice is just so dang dynamic. I loaded the album on  my Ipod/alarm clock. The Christmas album wakes me up in the morming now.  I hope that you make it back to Pensacola again soon.

You and Jeff have merry and peaceful Holiday.

And you didn't note that Norman Rockwell is bound to be a classic, searched out by all music lovers who want to also hear about real people during the holidays?

Have you heard Dar Williams Pagans and Christians.... it would be the same.

You don't look like you blog much, nor do you subscribe to many.... I'll send you an add, I try to post daily.... if you find it too much just unsubscribe it doesn't hurt my feelings.

Dave
