I was down in NYC this past weekend @ the Knitting Fatory performing at 6th Sense & Friends. 6th invited me to come down and do some tracks, so I hopped on a BoltBus and 4 hours later that day I arrived in NYC. Now for those of you who don't know the Knitting Factory has been the stepping stone for underground acts in NYC for almost two decades and now the legendary venue was about to close its doors for good.

Now I was pretty young when Lyricist Lounge started, but I was in high school for the tail end of it. I remember bumping the old Rawkus CDs in my busted ass CD player, trying not to move when I was in the car on the way to school so the CD doesn't skip.  I used to imagine myself in the crowd @ Shea stadium watching Mos & Tip do Body Rock in front of thousands. But I'm pretty sure they never rocked Shea, but even if they did it all started in a small intimate, sweaty, couple hundred people in a basement like we rocked last weekend. Now thats Hip Hop!

Black ELement - Confirmation (Live)

This show was reminscent of the Lyricist Lounge days,  where you'd see a lot dope artists in a short amount of time. Acts like Outasight, Wildabeast, Old Money, The Kid Daytona, Nina B, Mike Maven, Miz Metro and of course 6th.  Something that doesn't happen enough eventwise is getting a lot of talent on one bill, thats Hip Hop! Even though I was a little tipsy performing and slurred some of my words with the assist of Mr. Jack Daniels, it was a really fun time and I met a lot of talented heads. My message to all the MCs, Producers and DJs out there is if you want to be sucessful, you can't always do it yourself and to put on a great show sometimes you need a few friends, thats Hip Hop.

Also shout out to 6th and everyone else who came out!
