Hey Tim, I wouldn't worry too much about how Taylor Dayne got mixed into freestyle; her 80s/early 90s material is not too far removed, though with more of an urban feel, if only because of her soulful voice.  Bless her for still having the talent she had back then, and then some... 
But in future you might want to see about having the promoters find a hotel with an INDOOR pool - even some of the motels where I stay when I am on the road have indoor pools themselves, like the Super 8s in Pontoon Beach IL and eastside Tulsa OK or the Motel 6 on the east side of Columbia MO, and they can still be very good pools, even in winter, though they may be heated all year...of course you want better accommodations, I am an inventory auditor who earns a hell of a lot less for one inventory than you earn for performing one show, maybe you might consider this for future reference as many finer hotels even in Miami have very good indoor pools...which can help with regard to swimming even in inclement weather...
As for Taylor getting upset about you being in the limo, well, I am staying out of that one...but if I were in that situation, then in future I'd simply request a one-night rental for a Lincoln or similar four-door saloon, with or without a hired driver.  Even in New York you can hire such a vehicle and even a driver for less than you can hire a limousine...
