ANGOLA - A fire damaged a portion of the first and second floors of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity house on the 100 block of South Darling Street on Friday.
The fire, which Angola Fire Department officials determined started on the second floor of the house, was classified to be accidental.
The fire, which started on the second floor was contained to a small section of the first and second floors of the house, said T.R. Hagerty, Angola Fire Department public information officer.
The fire was brought under control less than 15 minutes after firefighters arrived at the scene.
There were no injuries in the incident.
The estimated damage was approximately $5,000, Hagerty said.
Assisting Angola firefighters were the Steuben Township Fire Department, Steuben County Emergency Medical Service, the Steuben County Sheriff's Department, the Angola City Police and Northern Indiana Public Service Co. The Fremont Fire Department was also called in, but the dispatch was disregarded en route to the fire.
