Last night went quite well. Many showed up and danced as we rocked the Buffalo Gap late into the evening. Julia Dawn and her accompanist, Jeff Simpson, were amazing. Overall, last night's show has been our best one yet this tour. After the show we said goodbye to our friends Alissa and Rachel, who were leaving for home the next morning. We stuck around a while to enjoy the evening. The night did well to fulfill this tour's purpose.

This morning, Kristin and I went into the east side of Portland and did some thrift store shopping, which has come to be one of our favorite things to do. We found much to browse through on Hawthorne Street, and could have spent hours more than we did. We both had reason for leaving, though.

We came home early because today, Ted and Laura planned a BBQ for us on our last day in Portland. We arrived home just in time to savor some delicious hot dogs, burgers, spinach and bean dips, and watermelon. Today is turning to be a relaxing day, and all the guys are jamming, though not with their normal instruments. Dave is on a djembe, Jeremy on bass, Daniel is on ukelele, and Jeremy's friend Chris is beat-boxing. I wish you could hear the sounds they are making, they are oddly comforting and enjoyable.

I'm not sure what will happen later tonight, but the plan for tomorrow is to get up early and leave to find a campground near the Smith River on HWY 199 near the border of Oregon and California. We saw the river on the way up and it looked unbelievable. If all goes to plan, we will be falling asleep tomorrow night to the sounds of the flowing Smith River. The next time I'll write we should be somewhere in Humboldt county. I hope all of my family and friends are well, and I'll see you all very soon!
