Current mood:shugga wugga
Michael Jackson - Not a songwriter, not a musician, not an artist really, but a big dancing star, an outstandingly great dancer and a mediocre singer.  Somehow I knew there wouldn't be a 65 year old Michael Jackson.  I own 17,000 albums, 880 CDs....and not a one Michael Jackson.  Great dancer!

Farrah Fawcett - Until today I had never seen Farrah....as in, on film, talking, whatever...I have never "seen" her....I've seen that poster from 1975....but I've never seen her or knew who she was.  I hear she was an 70s icon, and died a terrible death.

Ed McMahon - Yes, this announcer/sidekick was an icon I was connected to.  I did feel bad that no one mentioned his work as part of the Jerry Lewis Telethon.  What a gold plated larynx!!!

Jim, Good to hear from you! Well, I do indeed consider myself an artist….composer of over 2,500 songs (probably 1,000 great ones), lyricist, sculpture, painter, pen & inker, poet, actor, comedian, short story writer, guitarist, vocalist, pianist, banjo picker and admittedly one of my favorite bassists. But Jim, you did get me thinking that maybe Michael Jackson was such a great dancer that he might be considered an artist….BUT NO…dancing is a craft (much like acting). So therefore I stand by my opinion that Michael Jackson was a GREAT dancer, BUT was not an artist. “KING OF POP”?….how ridiculous for fella that never wrote a great pop song. Brian Wilson, Paul McCartney, Elton John, John Lennon…might be kings of pop. Michael Jackson was “The King of Album Sales” and one of the top 50 greatest dancers of all time. And just so I do not seem at all coy or vague…all of Michael Jackson’s artistic talent would neatly fit beneath the nail of my baby toe. My left baby toe.
