Lost and Found
As I walked out of the house to my car on the way to work the other night I glanced at the sky and cussed. Full moon again, I had no idea but I knew from the moment I saw it, it was going to be one of those nights again.
I have mentioned before that when the moon if full it affects people in different ways. Some people do things or act in ways they normally wouldn’t. In Key West, people do that on a daily basis anyway so a full moon means over drive to specific people’s moods. I walked in the back stage door of the bar and turned the corner to see a packed bar of folks who were obviously drinking for hours and partying to the vibe of the full moon. I saw dancing, laughing, drinking, smoking and one man chasing people around the bar with a giant blow up penis. I was right; it was going to be a wild night again. As usual to my routine I unpacked my gear and headed out to Duval Street to take a look at the happenings of a Key West Saturday night. I drank my coffee and watch the crowd’s behavior as they passed by me. I happen to notice something out of the corner of my eye down by my foot. Out of curiosity I looked to see what the object was. It happened to be a foot long blow up penis. It was just lying there beside my foot. No owner around, no one seemed to noticed. It was just abandoned there on the sidewalk of Duval Street and people just walked on by without so much as even a look. I thought to myself; only in Key West could someone lose a penis and not even know it.
