As you likely know, The Deciders have a rocky relationship with Salt Magazine.
Sure, Salt founder Catherine Price was responsible for the now-famous assertion in the New York Times that "[T]he Jewgrass Boys. . . [are] the coolest. . ." [See this blog post.]
However, since The Deciders decided to unshackle themselves from the oppressive weight of their earlier moniker, thereby paving the way for what has undeniably been a meteoric rise to mainstream success, Ms. Price--if indeed that is her original name--has become something of a "hater," to coin a phrase. How many articles about the Deciders has she written in the the NYT since the original one? Zero. How many in Salt? Zero. How many Deciders lyrics has she quoted in her widely read feminist blog on Salon.com? Inexplicably, zero--despite that Deciders lyrics are nothing if not feministly bloggable (To prove the point: "My existence doesn't look a lot like porn; I spend a lot of time seeing people that I don't have sex with"--Adrienne Rich, or The Deciders? Who can be certain?).
Once and for all, then, "Catherine" "Price": WHERE'S THE LOVE? Do we have a relationship, here, or are we just some bluegrass band you drunk-dial when your famed ice-skating parties wind down and you're home alone surrounded by sociologists (true)?
