TODAY..

Today I woke up a new man
For my president is black
And the fact that he is only half
Is senseless to say because the trap
Is broken, chains opened
And we're a step closer to world peace
Rejoicing not just for my race
But for progress towards unity

Today I woke up furbished
In a land where the spirit is new
Where race doesn't divide
But collide all to one from two
The sun seemed to rise a little
bit higher than previous days before
We started off with the rats
Now with the eagles we soar
