and all I recognised
were the results
and the Time

and what I had heard
you say was be discrete
(because this was spoken)

and I thought you were
breaking up very cleverly
(desiring you more for that)

and I told you what I rote
of factored forgiveness
equating difference and
gave you a number
between one
and 5

Oh! and there's probably some you haven't read over here as well -------> Little Glass Pen
and a look at the WA Spring Poetry Festival over here-------->Another Lost Shark

damn this is a good write, niice.

and I thought you were
breaking up very cleverly
(desiring you more for that)

I got a number 3!

(the significance of which in this performance
escapes me)

Brilliant briefness
:)

Forgiveness is always good...particularly in enclosed places. Yet you go further, you even applaud his manner of breaking up, you recognized its "Time" - there is no show heavy anger, despair or any emotion here...only cold numbers at the end...you give him grades.

This unexpected calculated reaction is disturbing... with huge power. The way you end with  "and 5" as an isolated line is somehow a dart in the heart...so moving

Excellent write.

Spilling is a beautiful word isn't it?

I've been thinking about echoes lately..
and doing a course in Projective geometry..
not anything I have written above is particularly relevant to the poem..
Not as relevant as your first comment about it being different anywhoos.. :)
Nice to 'see' you AE!

oh the wry mathematic of the heart.  breaking up makes for fine poetry if done a-right.

and who's being the clever one?

and the number you gave is a vector quantity, not just scalar, having both magnitude and direction.

Breaking up is harder to do--when there is a certain person it is being performed for/to, and a mental script usally does not read through, and becomes a re-write (again only in one's mind--things turned out...)

Leaving the end open - gives it that sense of something left behind, maybe an unfinished relationship or needing closure... (What was the number he gave you back?)
