I've just uploaded what I think should be the final version of this song, and thought I should add a note about it so you know the background to it!

Jamie Williams originally wrote this in Powertab back when powertabs.net was still active and before the User Composition Archive at www.ptuca.net was set up. I remember particularly liking it back then, and when the UCA eventually came into being, he uploaded a very slightly edited version of it which caused me to fall in love with it all over again. I asked him a while back if it would be okay for me to write an acoustic arrangement of it for my album (his original was for two electric guitars, keyboard and piano) and he very kindly agreed.

Anyway, long story short I decided I wanted to try and do something I hadn't done before with it, so have spent the last few days adding some vocal harmonies and recorder parts, neither of which I've ever really dabbled with before! I'm pretty happy with how it's come out - I tried to maintain the original feel that the song had as well as adding my own spin on it, and while I don't really know if I've managed that, it sounds good to me at the moment. I guess that's what matters, heh.

You can see the original tab of Jamie's here: http://www.ptuca.net/?page=song,265

When I've finished tabbing my arrangement I'll try and edit this blog to add a link. I hope you enjoy it!
Thanks,
-Fred.

RECORDER! I have no fewer than three spit-filled ones from elementary school. Intriguing symphony, and I like the return of the vocal parts. I've been hoping for that arrangement since I realized that the original is near-impossible to play on the acoustic guitar (or so my fingers would suggest).

Xo.

Hey! I'd love to hear your arrangement of it. I've known Jamies' stuff for a long time... and coincidentally, I've already ran into your arrangement of Bulb's All New Materials.

I guess we have the same taste. So where's this arrangement of Abaculus Perceptive?

Ah, thanks dude! I took it down a while back because I wasn't happy with the mix, and right now I'm waiting on a girl who records under the name of "Entertainment for the Braindead" to do some vocals for it - when she's done, the album will be finished and I'll upload Abaculus here.

Cheers again man.
