This week I have been working on adding Explosions to Version 2.

They are going to be much cooler than explosions from version 1.  In the next version you will be able to put armor around your ship to protect from explosion blasts.

Also, get ready, because the next release of Astro Battle will have a few more modules that take advantage of the new Explosion Collision Detection Rules.

By the way, It just occured to me that this topic "New Explosion Collision Detection Rules" is a TERRIBLE topic for anyone to bring up on a date.  I don't know why I think someonbe will try it, but just in case, here is my warning:  DONT DO IT!

OOooo Big explosions = more sprites = more GPU power required!

Gee scott... don't you think at AB2 will become too hard for the regulars to play on their computers, I mean half of them can barley run it already, of course you could keep the old sprites and stuff in... and are they 3D explosions? AB2 is coming around nicely scott, keep up the good work, were rootin for you!

The new explosion sprites are 2d also.  It's what they do on the collision detection side that is new and different.

People who don't have a computer that can play AB2 should upgrade.  All it really requires is a half decent 3d card. (like a GeForce3)

I can't wait to see you guys in the cube early next week so we can test out some of the new expansion pack offerings!

Or a decent chip set, was able to run Black and White 1 on a dell dimension something with no option for a graphics card. All about optomization and memory utalization
