Music Factory Foundation - Hosting Moving Screening for "Music From The Inside Out".
Music from the Inside Out was nominated for the International Documentary Association’s Distinguished Feature Award and named one of the Best Films of 2005 by the New York Daily News. It has been featured at film festivals around the world, including the Sydney Film Festival, the Full-Frame International Documentary Festival, the American Film Institute’s AFI Silverdocs Festival and the Valladolid International Film Festival. Released theatrically by Emerging Pictures, the film has proven to resonate with audiences of all ages and was a sleeper hit in some communities, garnering critical raves from many of the nation’s top newspapers including The New York Times and The San Francisco Chronicle.
Music from the Inside Out features the musicians of The Philadelphia Orchestra in their first motion picture appearance since Disney’s landmark film Fantasia (1940). It was developed through a series of collaborative workshops with the 105 musicians who comprise the orchestra, and was filmed over a period of five years on three continents. Unique in style and approach, the main character of this film is “Music” itself. Incorporating a blend of well-loved musical works, including classical, jazz, bluegrass, salsa, and world music, the film features one of the most eclectic soundtracks of any recent documentary.
At the heart of the film are the stories of the musicians themselves. Unlike many other films with orchestras that have focused on the conductor or star soloist, MUSIC FROM THE INSIDE OUT is told solely through the voices, and the music-making, of the musicians. Their stories - of passion, perseverance and transcendence – illuminate the universal struggle for self-expression:
