NCM 2nd US TOUR day 10

k…so I didn’t catch anything fishing…BUT o took a bike ride w/Adam first before we got there and the area is so beautiful…we got down to the park by the French Broad River and Adam went home and I started to fish.  I didn’t even get a bite but the day was beau and it worth just chillin out for a bit.  Afterwards  I rode my bike back to downtown Asheville…I rode up some crazy ass hills and it was quite a workout lemme tell ya…so I ended up at the Food CO OP which is by the Orange Peel(a popular venue).  I called Pand J and they were close by busking trying to make some money so they started walking down.  Whilst waiting, Pete from Hot Damn Scandal stopped by…we briefly talked and he was telling me how they were jammin on the streets but we actually had to get going to the gig at The Root Bar…so Pand J came by and we grabbed some snacks and headed out…they had a really good vegan blueberry muffin and I also had some falafel…we got to the bar and met Terry the owner(who was awesome) and the bartender Zack who was MAD cool.  We set up and did some acoustic numbers that went over well and then as the night progressed we did our electric set.  People dug us but I think the electric set may have been much for some of them as far as volume…Adam and his roommate Jacob came by and they jammed a couple of tunes whilst we took a break.  We got paid well and sold some merch…what more could ya want…afterwards we slept over adam’s again, woke up to this guy Bryan knocking on the door…He needed help moving this gigantic iron fish that he made out of scrap metal…so we all walked over and we helped put it on his truck…he was a really nice guy and he was REALLY creative…they had a beautiful garden junk walk that we strolled through which was perfect because it was such a gorgeous sunny day…it was too bad cause we had to drive out to Nashville for a show…the hard thing about touring is falling in love w/an area because as soon as you do, you have to leave…so we had some oatmeal, packed our thangs and headed outta town…on the way I was able to make my phone a modem which now enables me to have internet whilst traveling in the van…☺…so we go to this show at THE MUSE in Nashville and we meet up w/the bands who were all really cool…there were 3 touring bands(including us) and 2 locals…it was Sore Eyes, Trauma Deville, Darling Parade and Burning Yesterday…liked the stage, the owner(logan), sound guy(tofer) and the kid who was a Leo…damn I forgot his name…anyway, everyone performed great and afterwards we cooked a really cool dinner outside…I just did the traditional, olive oil, garlic, peppers, jalapenos, squash, zucchini, kale, and collards but this time we threw it over a whole box of spaghetti.  It was delicious and the funny thing is that one of the other band members came by and was like “your cooking?..it’s hard for most bands to set up a system but if ya do it can be good…anyway, so we invited him in…and we all sat on the sidewalk and ate outta the pan…twas yummy…nothing like fresh cooked food…mmmm…so I went inside the muse, washed the dishes and then of course came into terms w/the nightly mystery…where r we going to sleep??...we tried to find a park but failed so we went to a Wal Mart lot which was actually ok…it was quite muggy that eve but we left the back doors of the van open and there was a beautiful breeze that really helped me sleep very well…woke up and did some shopping and got some more produce that should last another few days…hopefully the week…so I don’t think I mentioned that our show got cancelled over at in NASHVILLE tonight soooo we were thinking about just hanging out in Nashville and see about having someone put us on a bill but there’s a big event going on called “The Next Big Nashville,” so it would be REALLY hard because the schedule in town is tight…so we went to the bicentennial park in Nashville to cook some breakfast(the regular egg, veggie and tortilla special) but then it started to downpour…it let up a bit and we cooked outside the trailer…a cop came by and said we couldn’t have an open flame but he said just clean up and we’d be fine…anyway, so also because of the rain we decided to mosey on outta town towards out next gig which is in Cincinnati at the Blue Rock Tavern…so whilst we were driving we decided to stop and get some coffee in the lil town of Bowling Green Kentucky and also see if we could pick up a bill to play on…we ended up at spencer’s café which had amazing coffee and we talked to this guy Brandon who directed us to this guy Bryan who called the this other guy Barlow at the local Brewery who agreed to put us on the bill…but lemme back up…at that point he was just going to ask…meanwhile I asked the girl at the coffee shop as well if they put on any shows but they didn’t.  I was a bit tired so I went back into the van to lie down but as soon as I did Halle called and I talked her for a bit…always a great lil ray of sunshine for a rainy day and then some more sun came in afterwards cause my friend Larry called…sooo I decided sleep wasn’t in the cards but I decided maybe this was sign to take a day of rest sooo just as soon as we all agreed to take a break Brian called me and told me that the gig was on and that we could play for beers…was a great venue and almost changed my mind but Jeremy reminded me that we REALLY needed to rest cause we haven’t stopped since last WED night….so we had to turn it down but I think it was good…you forget sometimes how important it is to rest the body…I know if I don’t force myself I won’t…lol…so I’m glad Jeremy said no.. cause I woulda pushed and that probably would have been bad…anyway, so here I sit in the café typing…that girl summer is looking for a place for us to stay and is waiting on a friend…she can’t cause she’s actually letting some people stay from couch surfing.com ….well till next time…off to Cincinnati tomale eve…I always have to be really conscious of the spelling of that city those N’s are tricky…always forget if they come first or second…hmmmi may go for a bike ride soon..might help me sleep easy…
