Hotels Rooms/A Musician's History
While in "sleep-number" hotel recently, trying to sleep, my mind recreated a rolodex of hotel rooms from my personal history:
It is the present and I am sharing a Nashville tacky but comforting and cozy commercial winter holiday get-away with my daughter.
I was 32 on the road with the Platters and had to duck into room on Labor Day to grab sleep before a show and was thrown together with J...for 17 more years.
I was 25 and on the road with country band and slept at Massachusetts Truck Stop with B. in smelly seedy dirty diesel grease infested on Route 495 in New Hampshire,
I was 19 and on the road touring as a solo original artist and G. drank too much and got sick in the shower.
When I was 10 and slept at huge Hotel in Puerto Rico and heard night club band perform "You're Just Too Good To Be True" and cried when we had to return home to Boston.
