If you have lived for 88 years, killing someone is a surefire way to put an exclamation point on your life. A White racist yesterday murdered a Black security guard at the museum to memorialize the Jewish Holocaust.

Chris Matthews stated, "Is there something really bad happening out there on the far right?" I don't follow the logic. I do follow the political strategy. Mayhaps if conservative broadcasters could get away with it, they would tar the Left with, say,  the murder of Army private William Long. After all, anti-war leftists publicly hoisted hateful banners proclaiming "We Support the Troops When They Shoot Their Officers."

But broadcasters barely got the word out about Long's murder, so the idea of a hypothetical conservative broadcaster linking the Long murder to the rhetoric directed toward the American military by elements on the Left seems to be reaching a bit and not just because it is actually is reaching a bit.

My point is this.  Anti-war does not equal a drive by at the Army recruiting center and right-wing doesn't equal racist murder at the Holocaust Museum. Why can our wonderful media complex understand the former? But somehow it can't the get the latter right?

Well that's it folks, same rules as last time.  I doubt that I'll have time to respond due to familial, hearth, work and other various constraints on yours trulies time.  But I do love you all.

It is kinda odd blaming the mental instability of the 88 year old on others let alone conservative talk radio given he was a 9-11 Truther, hated Neo-Cons, hated Bill O'Rielly and hated Jews..er, I mean Zionists *coughcough*. All of which would be reasons for his NOT listening to right wing radio.

It's all been very Orwellian seeing how the conservatives have now always been at war with Eurasia, 9-11 truthers, anti-neo-cons, etc..

You make an excellent point and I'll be perfectly honest.  I only paid cursory attention to this story and didn't read about his history.  But what you point out is strange.  I must figure out what far right is considered.  To use my favorite example (me) I may be considered far right because I'm a believe words mean what they mean, and that the constitution means the words that are in it and that the 10th amendment was put there as a check on the federal government.

"Conservatism" is starting to look like the center on the left/right scale when viewed through this lens.

9/11 "truthers" are bat-dropping crazy, anyway.

As always, I'd prefer we all drop the "left/right" labels and address issues directly.  These imaginary labels were invented to sell books and tv time anyway.

That's a great idea but unfortunately. People like to feel like they belong to a subgroup.  Left, Right, whatever, they want to belong to something that's not a part of the larger mass. Because the larger mass is always evil for some reason.   Por ejemplo.  I could never be a citizen of the world  as it were. I'm fine with being a plain ol' American.
