This weekend we have some interesting fights. I'll give you my predictions for three of the big ones. Please feel free to step up to the plate and give your opinions or forever shut the fuck up!

RASHAD EVANS VS. LYOTO MACHIDA

The ufc light heavy weight championship fight looks like a good one on paper. Two undefeated fighters both in their prime. etc... but this fight may actually be a snoozer. Both guys are counter punchers first and Machida's takedown defense may negate Evans wrestling attributes. With that said I look for the ever elusive Lyoto Machida to begin a long reign as light heavyweight champion. Machida will be to the light heavy's what Anderson Silva is to the middle weight division. Untouchable. Look for Machida to win in both striking and grappling, eventually stopping Evans via choke out.

prediction: Machida winner by submission round 3

MATT HUGHES VS. MATT SERRA

Even though neither of the these former champions are what they were a few years ago, I'm glad the UFC put this grudge match together. Sure both have claimed victory over the current welter weight god, George St. Pierre. But more importantly both have suffered devestating defeats in subsequent rematches. I can see this fight being entertaining while it lasts but the superior Matt. (Hughes that is..) grounding and pounding the New Yorker into a referee stoppage.

prediction: Hughes wins tko round 2

ANDRE BERTO VS. JUAN URANGO

Running against the UFC's ppv is HBO's Boxing after dark program. The main event is a fight that I'm very excited about. Unbeaten welter weight belt holder Berto takes on one loss junior welterweight belt holder Urango. If you've never seen Urango, I urge you to check out a photo of this freak. He is to boxing what Sean Sherk is to the UFC. He looks like 240lbs of steel but he's only 140lbs. This fight should be the fight of the night. Both guys can bang, both guys have defensive flaws, and both men are hungry. I see this one going down to wire with the slighhtly larger man pulling out a razor thin victory.

prediction: Berto wins via 12 round split decision.

So what do you think???

The flip of a coin could be used for all  of these matches, they are all that close, but that would be a weak sauce way to go, so I'll wade right in with  Sean's foolproof predictions:

Evans vs. Machida: Machida tko round 3, the difference between these two is razor thin, with Machida's very slightly better striking skills being the difference.

Hughes vs. Serra: Serra KO round one, once upon a time I really think this would've been a no-brainer Hughes all the way, but the years of battles have taken their toll on his body as well as his psyche, I just don't think he's that interested in fighting anymore.

Berto vs. Urango: Berto unanimous decision, I just think he's a better boxer, and while Urango has been successful, there is definitely a reason you don't see more muscle-bound champions, that being the more muscle-bound you are, the less flexible you tend to be, and flexibility is key in boxing.

There you have it, the rest of you guys should just save yourself the trouble, and declare me the winner of predictions right now. hahaha.

I know it sounds crazy and stupid, but I can't imagine that with all the Machida hype Evans is not going to town, at this moment , BJJ style with his amazing camp...t'sall...Could be a grinder.

Machida, Hughes even tho he's a toolbag and Berto. I also expect Pat Barry to cave Tim Hauge's skull in.

Here it goes - Evans is too strong a wrestler with much more devastating power than Machida on their feet and on the ground. This fight will most likely be relatively boring with both being counter punchers but I don't see Machida being fast enough or strong enough to upend Rashad's wrestling and striking. Evans by ref stoppage 4th round.

Hughes by beatdown period. Serra will then realize he was given a gift in his decision win over Lytle and then became the luckiest man on Earth in getting the ko against GSP.

Two words : Tito Ortiz. Evans COULD NOT out wrestle Tito. Machida, as Dana White said "Threw Tito around like a small child".

Not so fast, it was I, who was the genius who earnestly explained how Hughes was going to get KO'd in the first, only to see him grind out a decision victory, hopefully Berto will save my neck next weekend, and I'll go 2-3 this time around, and avoid the dreaded head-slap, maybe I should watch less poker and more fights.
