with nary a day's rest after returning from Nashville, we headed north for our first tour of Vermont... our kind hosts, Pete, Rebecca, Ivy, Roy and Gene, put us up in the Northeast Kingdom, 5 miles down a dirt road in a farmhouse (once owned by Robert Frost). hound dog loved the country.
we played shows in Concord, Montpelier, Morrisville, and Burlington... we met many kind and beautiful people.... (thanks to Langdon St. Cafe, Bee's Knees, and Radio Bean)... john had fireworks from world's largest fireworks store in TN, but was discouraged from blowing off his hand before tour was over.
last day in Vermont, while heading (the wrong way) to the Willey's Store, we coasted into Glover after a fretful ride through nowhere with almost no gas... we filled up at mercantile, Pete got his fishin' license, and we lunched at bee-hive diner across the road.... thank god for Glover! God's country... Pete struggled with gas cap... so later check engine light went on.... Pete blamed it on Mercury in Retrograde.
