A Student of Cosmic Malevolence

He clings to a fleeting image
A man sipping wine on a train
Racing through a cloudless
And ever so bloodless night

What of man’s universal sorrow
A cosmic lapse
Something small
Absolutely critical in effect

An arachnid spins a web
God of its universe
Spilling from it entrails

A careless thought
A lazy daydream
A ghost of limbo

The world’s cobweb goes crazy
Everything out of kilter
Black holes appear in the memory

We dance with
Name the snakes
Curling in our minds
Give voice and words to them
While the god-like spider
Waits ever so patiently

"fleeting cloudless bloodless sorrow lapse critical entrails careless lazy crazy snakes spider" - not the most upbeat message to start the day.

A powerful and wonderfully chilling unveiling.... the poem is so aptly named...

the energy builds and builds until the last stanza  Wow!
Chaos and order and the mad play of life death and the patience that hangs between.
Funny and so painfully true how tiny things are SO critical...............
  S  a really good write...
BTW my first response was marred by not fully understanding some of your words
as you read... sorry about that...

Thank you Terry.  it's generally more difficult to critique a poem from hearig than reading.  Not exactly a cheerful scribble.
