Saturday, July 25, 2009

We can announce that Rebellion will return to Blackpool Winter Gardens next year 2010 on the same weekend which will be August 5 6 7 8

This will be our 14th year and our 15th UK festival. So we plan a great festival to match or be even better than this year.

Already some things are being lined up and have hope for some big US names.

Ticket will be on sale at this years Blackpool at the bargain price of just £70 for the four days all stages.

These are limited to just 600 so dont miss out!

Full price when on sale in November will be £90 increasing to £100 on May 1st so its well worth getting at £70.

Please keep supporting Rebellion which is now the ONLY UK punk festival and still by far the BEST in Europe.

Tell your friends and spread the word around the world and keep Rebellion booking the best line ups EVER.

And finally just days to this years which has increased sales on 2008 which is great so look forward to seeing you all for the best weekend of the year.

cheers Daz x x

If you can get the Damned back again next year, you can be sure of our attendance.

The Adicts would be good again too and the Rezillos would be a huge bonus.

I also loved seeing Hazel O'Connor a couple of years ago and would love seeing her again live. Keep up the good work.

See you all soon.

Can I just say, that there are MANY uk punk festivals, just because they don't have all the big commercial names that Rebellion does doesn't make them not a punk festival. Stop telling lies.

15th year? I'll take Cock Sparrer as a certain then! (They seem to do every other year nowadays anyway!)
After this years performance, The Business need to come back - they've finally found their feet again and sounded incredible this year, the crowd and the reponse they drew in the Empress attests to that.
In terms of other headliners, like every year, I pitch Rancid/Dropkick Murphys but they could still be considered too big (i.e. expensive) but Flogging Molly this year seems like a step in the right direction.
Oh and Thursday this year was obviously a much bigger deal with Flogging playing, another big band on the Thursday too next year please!

Also props to the organisers of the Aftershows at West Coast and Beat this year, good luck trying to top the Dead Pets from this year though!

Cryo-Genics

I have to agree with Phil further down and say there are sooo many great bands in the UK and Europe that would play for free and give it 100% if not more....the Nags from Leicester, Poundaflesh from Derby, Certified from Notts, Fleas and Lice from Holland, Antidote from Holland, Disturbance from Holland (can you see a pattern haha) just to name a few....
Exploited were also great this year
I know a lot of people that would be really disappointed if you put a load of US bands on especially Rancid, Leftover Crack were bad enough this year
You all do a great job, it must be a nightmare arranging this for us!!!
Take care,
Ruby xxx

Psycho

Doesn't matter who Daz gets, someone will disagree with the line up. Which is why it's important to keep it as diverse as its become over the last few years. The Bizarre bazarr or Acoustic stages were great when you wanted a break and a chill out session. I would love to see Hazel O' Connor back, she was brilliant last 2 times. Talking Heads would be great if you could get them. All the Oi bands put it in, great sets, full of energy. So u can't go wrong with CockSParrer, 4Skins, Cockney Rejects Business, Argy Bargy, Section 5 and so on. All the Glam bands like Slade, Sweet, Bay City Rollers have been great. Would love to see The Macc Lads, but that seems a big no, no. The Usual suspects like ANWL, UK Subs and the likes will always do it. Toy Dolls wont do the festival.
As regards Morecambe, don't forget the hotels ripping all of us off and upping their prices, the beer voucher fiasco, no toilets in the Market Arena, so when women had to go outside to go to the loo's, they were often stuck in a queue to get back in. Same with people going out to get beer vouchers. And worse still, when there was a cross over between 2 bands you wanted to see, you couldn't just dash from one part of the Winter Gardens to another. You had to go out and often walk 15 mins down the road, to catch the last bit of a set. So Blackpool makes it for me. Restarts and Paranoid Visions were excellent this year. Missed Crashed Out this year they always put on a good show. As regards Billy Idol, that cunt will be so far up his own arse like The Stranglers were in Morecambe that he wont see where he's going. I like the idea of giving new bands a chance, but a lot of them do get early spots to prove themselves, and if you put too many of them on, you'll have the whingers who wont go to the festival and then spend their lifetime complaining about the poor line up.

I wanna see more European bands like Suspenders, Bolchoi, Nabat, maybe Banda Bassotti or Boikot headlining. There are loads of great bands that don't get considered cos they don't sing in english. Music transcends language and boundaries.............lets get em all in!

Agreeing with Psycho here.  I never went to Morecambe and after what my other half says, it being totally crap there, I think its best to keep the festival in Blackpool.  The Winter Gardens is the most ideal place for this, it has everything under one roof why would you go anywhere else.... and Blackpool is so accessable, totally excellent venue.  Roll on 2010...

I agree with everything you said Psycho your totally right. I think people think Daz and the team are  miracle workers sometimes. Anyway Blackpool is far superior to Morcambe, its a beautiful venue!!! Everyone is always going to disagree with certain bands thats why theres such a vast choice so hopefully everyones taste is covered but still you get the moaners who didnt like this and that blah blah blah. Personally i would like to see my beloved Chelsea back as im totally biased. Our North East bands aswell as we obviously try to support our scene as much as we can. So bands like Crashed Out, Diablo 66, Gimp Fist, Keyside Strike, and definately The Fiend. But again to agree with Colm the Glam bands are great, a real good feel vibe. All i know is that i always have a great time, its the highlight of my year and im counting down the days already. See you all there. Jo xxx

Psycho,as ever, talking plain common sense,Blackpool is an excellent venue, everything under one roof, can't beat that and enough hotels to just turn up on the day and find a room somewhere.
X ray spex for headliner for 2010 I reckon and hopefully Cocksparrer but really, its such a social event that the bands are almost becoming a secondary reason for being there.
